David Taplin

David is an experienced commercial lawyer. David’s particular areas of interest and expertise are corporate law, corporate governance and corporate finance.

 

David has held numerous executive positions including as CEO, Chief Financial Officer, General Counsel, Chief Governance Officer, Company Secretary and in Corporate Development. In his career, he has previously worked with some of the world’s leading professional services firms both in Australian and abroad.

David is currently a director of Isis Sugar Mill Co. Ltd (ICSM) and The Springfield Anglican College (TSAC) and formerly the Company Secretary of Gladstone Area Water Board. He is currently Chair of ICSM’s Audit & Risk Committee.

 

David draws on his extensive business networks to bring in expertise no matter how complex the problem. David’s vast experience means there are very few legal problems that David has not seen, navigated, and resolved.

 

David holds many qualifications to underpin his background including a Bachelor of Laws (QUT), Grad Dip Business Management (QUT), MBA (AGSM UNSW), Grad Dip Applied Corporate Governance (GIA), CPA, Chartered Secretary, Fellow of the Governance Institute and Graduate of AICD Company Directors’ Course (GAICD). He was admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland and High and Federal Courts of Australia in 1992
